BBC Pundit Alan Shearer Heaps Praise on Liverpool Star Following Stellar Performance

Former Newcastle United and England striker Alan Shearer has heaped praise on Liverpool midfielderAdam Lallana, claiming that the 28-year-old has been 'brilliant all season'.


Lallana scored twice and assisted another in Liverpool's 3-0 win at Middlesbrough on Wednesday night, earning himself the 'Man of the Match' award after a superb performance.

Liverpoolboss Jurgen Klopp was delighted with his side's performance in the 3-0 win, praising his side's intensity in the post-match press conference.


But the German manager wasn't the only one to direct praise at his players, as BBC pundit Alan Shearer, who was speaking onMatch of the Day, also reserved special praise for match-winner Lallana.

Shearer said:"Jurgen Klopp has given Lallana more license to roam and get forward. He wants to be involved and he was absolutely brilliant tonight, as he has been for large parts of this season."


The former Saints midfielder has been in stunning form all season, scoring six and providing six assistsin 12 starts as Liverpool continue to look like credible title-contenders.

Anfield legend Jamie Carragher also picked Lallana out as a star performer, writing on Twitter:

The win at the Riverside Stadium sees Jurgen Klopp's side go six points behind leaders Chelsea after 16 games, but they are already seven points clear of rivals Manchester United, whooccupy sixth.
