Be patient with this new team - Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu tells Asante Kotoko fans

Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has implored the fans of Asante Kotoko to be patient with the current playing body.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, who has returned to the club as the head coach has assembled a seemingly entirely new squad for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw in their opener against Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Agyemang Badu who once played for Kotoko has called on the fans to be patient and support the team.

“First of all, Kotoko we are building, I don’t know if our supporters want to understand it because of the kind of pressure Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are having, they will not understand that you are building, so you should bring these young chaps that they will give you two to three years to build a squad that can compete in Africa," the former Black Stars midfielder told Accra based Radio Gold.

“But the reality is that, is Kotoko is building, looking at the players they have brought on board and the strategy of the coach is, he knows how to nurture young talents to become big players.

“So things may be a bit rough from the start of the season, it’s a fact,” Agyemang-Badu added.

Asante Kotoko will be hosted by Bibiani Gold Stars in the matchday two games at DUN's Park on Saturday.
