Belgian top-flight side, Cercle Brugge has announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum.
The talented youngster has been signed on a season-long loan from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.
“Cercle Brugge and Austrian Red Bull Salzburg have reached an agreement on the temporary transfer of midfielder Lawrence Agyekum. The 20-year-old Ghanaian will be rented until the end of this season, with a purchase option.
“Lawrence Agyekum (1.74m) is a midfielder who can also play at right back. He was trained at the Ghanaian 'West African Football Academy' before making the switch to RB Salzburg in 2022. This was followed by a loan spell at Austrian FC Liefering, for which he played a total of 49 matches, scored 3 times and provided 4 assists.
“At Cercle, Lawrence Agyekum meets a fellow countryman, Abu Francis,” Cercle Brugge announced in an official statement on Thursday, July 4.
At Cercle Brugge, Lawrence Agyekum has chosen number 6 and will join group training as soon as his work permit is granted.
