German-born Ghanaian defender Benjamin Henrichs scored in RB Leipzig's 5-1 win against VfB Stuttgart on Friday evening.

VfB Stuttgart started brightly and deserved to score first, Serhou Guirassy capitalized on a poor pass at the back from David Raum in the 35th minute.

RB trailed 1-0 at halftime, thanks in part to a key stop by Alexander Nübel on the stroke of halftime to deny Lois Openda a few seconds before the break.

Benny Henrichs earned his team the equalizer after the break with aggressive pushing against Nubel's clearing, and his block resulted in the ball ricocheting into the VfB net in the 51st minute.

Within half an hour Die Roten Bullen had made it 5-1. Dani Olmo scored Leipzig's second goal in the 63rd minute, Openda headed in at the back post to make it 3-1 in the 66th minute, Kevin Kampl added a fourth in the 74th minute with a deflected long-range shot, and Xavi scored his first goal for the club in the 76th minute.

RB will play Union Berlin in their next league game.
