Benjamin Kotey refuses to sign new Hearts of Oak deal - Report

Hearts of Oak midfielder Benjamin Afutu Kotey is refusing to sign a new deal with the club, according to Graphic Sports Online.

Officials of the Phobians are worried over what they describe an an indifferent attitude by defensive midfielder towards an offer to renew his contract.

The 24-year-old has been a key cog of the since since joining them from Karela United two season ago.

He made 17 Premier League appearances for the club last season.

According to Graphic Sports Online, Afutu had been embarking on a hide and seek with the club anytime he was invited to put pen to paper for a new deal.

“That lad is playing delay tactics with the club anytime he is asked to sign a new deal,” the source hinted.

The source said Hearts were very keen on keeping Kotey - whose contract runs out at the end of next month - but would not stand in his way should he decide to seek greener pastures outside.

He has made two appearances for Hearts so far this season.
