Berekum Chelsea forward Mezack Afriyie discharged from hospital after collapsing on the pitch

Berekum Chelsea striker Mezack Afriyie has been discharged from the hospital after collapsing on the pitch in Monday’s Ghana Premier League match against Accra Lions.

The Ghana Premier League leading scorer collapsed after a collision with Accra Lions defender Jacob Mensah and had to be rushed to the hospital in the 80th minute.

After almost five minutes of trying to resuscitate the striker on the pitch, he was carried off by an ambulance and sent to the hospital where he had further treatment.

He was on target for Berekum Chelsea despite their 2-1 away defeat to Accra Lions in matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League.

"Yes, I went fainted yesterday resuscitated then realized I was in the hospital but for now I am very fine and can play our next match. I will like to thank everybody who prayed for me." He said.

The enterprising forward is currently leading the top scorers chat with 8 goals.

Berekum Chelsea are 14th on the league table with 16 points after 13 matches into the Ghanaian top-flight.
