Berry Ladies CEO Gifty Oware-Mensah donates to Black Queens ahead of Guinea clash

The Chief Executive Officer of Berry Ladies Football Club, Gifty Oware-Mensah donated items to Ghana’s female senior national team, the Black Queens as part of her birthday celebration.

The donation was delivered at the Accra Sports Stadium to raise morale among the players and inspire them ahead of their crucial 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers doubleheader against Guinea.

Recognizing the importance of adequate preparation, Oware-Mensah has stepped forward to provide significant support to the Black Queens.

The astute CEO of Berry Ladies has played a vital part in changing the reputation of women's football in recent times.

This gift was made to help the squad prepare for the forthcoming 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers, which is set to commence this weekend.

“Today, as part of the events to climax my birthday celebrations, I donated to the Black Queens of Ghana, who trained at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of their World Cup qualifying match”

“I am convinced that we have a responsibility and a chance to resurrect the love that binds us via sports and more specifically, football. Whiles doing this, we will be building the confidence of the female football community as well as giving back to society”

“And as a stakeholder in this endeavor, I believe this little gesture can help boost the morale of the players. I believe in them, and I know their potential is capable of conquering the world. Present were Mrs. Ama Brobbey Williams, Matilda Dimedo, and Hannah of the GFA” she posted on Facebook.

Ghana will travel to Conakry to face Guinea on July 14, 2023 in the first leg before the reverse fixture in Ghana.

The Black Queens continued preparations ahead of their qualifier against Guinea with a friendly encounter on Saturday against Avenor Stars.

Head coach, Nora Hauptle started two different sets in the two halves, with the first eleven heading into the break with the scores goalless.

However, after the break Avenor Stars took the lead on the hour mark following a brilliant play by the lower tier side.

Ten minutes later, Jacqueline Opoku levelled for the Black Queens.

The team will continue preparations on Monday before departing for Conakry for the first-leg of their double header against Guinea.
