Berry Ladies team bus catches fire on its way to Kyebi for Women’s League Super Cup

On Tuesday, September 12, the Ghana Women’s Premier League team, Berry Ladies, encountered a car accident while en route to Kyebi in the Eastern Region.

The team is slated to participate in the 2023 Women’s Premier League Super Cup, scheduled from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Kyebi Astroturf.

A video posted by Angel TV revealed that there were no reported casualties, but the bus they were traveling in caught fire midway through their journey at Suhum.

The club is yet to officially comment on the news of the bus fire incident and the way forward regarding the tournament.

In the preceding 2022/23 season, Berry Ladies secured a commendable third-place finish in the Southern Zone, amassing 30 points across 18 games.

As they gear up for the 2023/24 season, Berry Ladies will continue their pre-season preparations, facing off against Hasaacas Ladies, Dreamz Ladies, and Supreme Ladies in Group A of the Women’s Premier League Super League.
