Black Galaxies beat Egyptian side Al Ahly in a pre-CHAN friendly

The Black Galaxies of Ghana recorded their second win in their friendly games ahead of the 2023 CHAN tournament.

Having defeated Egypt U-20, Annor Walker's side defeated Al Ahly 3-1 this afternoon in Cairo.

Solomon Adomako opened the scoring account for the Galaxies.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh doubled the lead before Abdul Razak Yussif sealed the win.

However, the hosts managed to reduce the deficit in before the final whistle.

The team will be engaged in a few more trial games before they jet off to Algeria in the first week of January.

The games form part of the team's preparations for the tournament scheduled to be hosted in Algeria.

Ghana will be making a record fourth CHAN appearance having already featured in the tournament in 2009, 2011 and 2014 in Cote D’Ivoire, Sudan and South Africa respectively.

The Black Galaxies are housed in Group C alongside Madagascar, Sudan and Morocco.

The competition starts on January 13, 2023.
