Black Queens beat Senegal 3-0 in an international friendly

The Black Queens beat Senegal  3-0 in the first leg of a double header at the Accra Sports Stadium Saturday afternoon.

This is the team’s second international fixture under head coach, Nora Hauptle following a 3-0 win against Benin in March this year.

Gifty Assifuah scored in the 2nd minute and a few seconds to halftime. Grace Asantewaa scored Ghana's third goal in the 8th minute.

Black Queens were a delight to watch from kick-off to full-time amidst cheers from the supporters at the stadium who loved the performance.

The friendly game today against Senegal is been used as part of preparations for the 2023 WAFU B Cup of Nations and the African Women Cup of Nations 2024 qualifiers.

Togolese Amedome Vincentia handled the international friendly between the Black Queens and the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal.

The renowned FIFA referee who was in charge when Ghana played Nigeria in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nation’s qualifiers in Lagos on October 20,2021 will steer affairs in Accra.

The 41-year-old Togolese FIFA referee was assisted on the lines by compatriots Awoutey Kayigan and Gbandi Tchedre Belaou with Ghanaian FIFA referee, Rita Nkansah as the fourth official.

Naa Odofoley Nortey from Ghana serveed as the Match Commissioner for the game.

Black Queens will play Senegal again on Tuesday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.
