Black Queens midfielder Priscilla Okyere has stressed that the team will work on their finishing before their crucial two-legged tie against Kenya in the qualifiers of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Ghana secured progression to the next phase of the qualifiers after emerging as 5-0 aggregate winners over their counterparts from Gabon.

The second leg of the tie which was played at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday has raised several question marks on the efficiency of the team’s forward line. An unimpressive showing in front of home fans saw the Queens scoring 2 even though they created several goal-scoring opportunities.

Commenting on why the team wasted a lot of opportunities on the day, midfielder Priscilla Okyere has ruled out the possibility of complacency and noted that they possibly just had an unlucky day.

“We were not complacent because we went into the game to score and win. But if you look at today’s match, football you can create chances but you will score some and miss some”, she said.

She further assured that the team will improve on their goal-scoring prowess before they engage Kenya in the next qualifying round to the Olympic Games.

“So I will say we didn’t intentionally miss the chances that came our way. What happened has happened so we will prepare well at training to polish our finishing for the Kenya match to ensure we are able to score when we meet them”, Priscilla Okyere shared.
