Black Queens mourn Christian Atsu after player’s death; sends love to his family

The Women’s senior national team of Ghana, the Black Queens have extended a message of condolence to the family of Black Stars winger Christian Atsu.

The team currently in Benin is devastated after hearing of the untimely demise of the player.

Speaking to the media team of the Ghana FA on behalf of the entire Black Queens team, head coach Nora Hauptle stressed that it is clear the player did incredible things with his life and he will always be remembered.

“Our condolences to Christian Atsu’s family and all Ghanaians. You will always be remembered!

“Our prayers go out to Christian Atsu’s family and we send all our love. The Black Queens are behind you. Some of them have told us incredible things about you,” Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle said.

Christian Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday, February 18. He died after staying under the rubble of his building apartment in Turkey for 12 days which was affected by the devastating earthquake on February 6.
