Black Stars aim to keep AFCON qualification intact as Chris Hughton takes charge of the first game on Thursday

 The Black Stars of Ghana will be aiming to amass three big points against Angola when the two sides lock horns in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers later this week.

Ghana will welcome Angola to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, March 23.

The match will be the first of a doubleheader encounter to be played between Ghana and Angola in Group E of the qualifiers.

With Ghana currently top of the group standings, the Black Stars are focused on beating the opponent this week to keep the 2023 AFCON qualification intact.

Victory for the Black Stars this week will see Ghana extending a three-point lead at the top of the Group E standings of the qualifiers.

The upcoming game will be the first assignment of new Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton.

The gaffer was only officially unveiled by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday, March 20.
