Black Stars B head coach Ibrahim Tanko names 20-man squad for Uzbekistan friendly

The head coach for the Black Stars B, coach Ibrahim Tanko has named a 20-man squad for the team’s upcoming friendly encounter against Uzbekistan.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Thursday evening announced that the Ghana national team made up of home-based players will engage the Uzbekistan national team in a friendly match.

“The Ghana Football Association is delighted to announce an International friendly between Ghana and Uzbekistan on Thursday, March 25, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

“The GFA has therefore decided to honour the match with a chunk of the home-based players who have been preparing in Accra for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as the Association intends to utilize fully, the opportunity in the March FIFA window with this useful exercise.

“The team will also use the match as a dress rehearsal for the 2021 WAFU Cup of Nations in Nigeria and the upcoming CHAN qualifiers,” the country’s football governing body has said in a communique.

Ahead of the trip, Black Stars B head coach CK Akonnor has named his squad. The team has Ghana U-20 stars Percious Boah, Samuel Ashie Quaye, and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
