Ghana international, Tariq Lamptey could miss the upcoming international friendlies with Mexico and USA.

The defender is one of the 23 players invited by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton for the October international break.

This weekend, the in-form player was expected to feature for Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Premier League game against Liverpool.

Ahead of the game, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has excluded Tariq Lamptey from his squad.

Explaining the decision in a pre-match interview, Roberto De Zerbi disclosed that the defender had to be excluded from his squad because he had picked a knock.

Tariq Lamptey, 23, is expected to undergo some examinations on Monday, October 8, to ascertain the extent of the injury.

If the injury is not serious, Tariq Lamptey will be able to report to the Black Stars camp next week for the October international break.

The Black Stars will face their Mexican counterpart on October 14, before taking on the USA on October 17.
