Black Stars have quality to face Brazil, says Tariq Lamptey

Brighton & Hove Albion defender, Tariq Lamptey says the Black Stars have much quality to compete ahead of the Brazil friendly game on Friday.

The four-time African champions will take on the five-time world champions in an international friendly at the Stade Oceane Le Havre on September 23, 2022.

Inkai Williams, Mohammed Salisu, Stephen Ambrosius and Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer who completed their nationality switch to play for the West African country have all been named in Ghana's squad for the friendly game.

Having trained with the team for the first time, Lamptey speaking ahead of the game reiterated that Otto Addo's side has the quality to compete at the highest level.

"I feel really good; training has been really good, it’s good to know everybody," he told the Ghana FA website.

"There is a very high quality here and we are working hard in training, listening to what the Coach has to say, and looking forward to the game.

Lamptey also lauded his teammates for the reception he has been offered.

"Everyone has been fantastic. Everyone has been very welcoming. I am talking to everyone and getting to know everyone. It feels like a family so it feels so good," he added.

Ghana will also take on Nicaragua in their second friendly game in Spain on Tuesday, September 27.
