Black Stars, Meteors playing four games in six days was hectic – Asante Twum

The Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Henry Asante Twum says it was hectic overseeing the Black Stars and the Black Meteors play four games in six days.

The senior national team and the U-23 national team both had doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games against Angola and Algeria, respectively.

The Black Stars won 1-0 at Baba Yara Sports Stadium and drew 1-1 in Luanda while the Meteors first drew 1-1 in Algeria before winning the reverse fixture in Kumasi to qualify for this year’s AFCON.

“First of all, we are grateful to Ghanaians for the support. This week has been hectic having two of your top national teams in action,” he told Asempa FM.

“They played a day apart twice. The Black Stars played on Monday and we took off to come to Kumasi to do what is necessary for the Black Meteors.

“I think the long-term target is to qualify for the Olympic Games. The Olympic Games is something that has eluded Ghana since 2004.”
