Black Stars midfielder Elisha Owusu scores winner for AJ Auxerre against Troyes

Black Stars midfielder, Elisha Owusu, marked a significant moment on Saturday, netting his debut goal for AJ Auxerre in a 2-1 victory over Troyes on matchday 7 in the French Ligue 2.

The 25-year-old played a crucial role in securing the win at the Stade de l’Aude, extending Auxerre's unbeaten streak to five matches.

In the 21st minute, Senegalese defender Abdoulaye Ndiaye unintentionally scored an own goal, giving the visitors an early lead. However, Troyes managed to equalize in the 75th minute, courtesy of a goal from Malian striker Jaures Assoumou.

Owusu's defining moment came in additional time when he capitalized on an opportunity created by Gaetan Perrin to secure the victory for Auxerre.

In the same match, Ghanaian international left-back Gideon Mensah put on a solid performance, playing the full duration. However, he received a yellow card in the 38th minute.

Owusu's contribution adds to an impressive season record, with seven appearances, one goal, and an assist so far.
