Former Ghana international, Asamoah Gyan advocates for Mohammed Kudus to lead the Black Stars team.

Gyan emphasizes Kudus's stellar performances for both club and country as the basis for making him the focal point of the national team.

Having debuted in 2019, Kudus has swiftly become a favourite among fans and has demonstrated his prowess with nine goals in 26 appearances for the Black Stars.

Gyan speaking on Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com urges the management of the national team to centre their strategy around the 23-year-old midfielder, citing his versatility and consistent excellence.

"So far it's obvious - Mohammed Kudus," Gyan said when quizzed about who should be the face of the new Black Stars project. "During my era, we had a lot of good players and eventually it got to my turn.

"At the moment, it's Mohammed Kudus. He's the only Ghanaian player performing well now in Europe and he is doing it in the Premier League.

"Even in Africa, he is the only one doing so well in Europe. So we have to just support him."

Kudus has made a significant impact in his debut season with West Ham, following his transfer from Ajax. His impressive tally of 12 goals and 5 assists in 36 appearances for the Hammers during the 2023/24 season attests to his exceptional ability.
