Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko believes Black Stars trio of Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ernest Nuamah and Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer will make his team much stronger for the U23 AFCON tournament.

The much-anticipated AFCON tournament has been scheduled for June 24, 2023 in Morocco, where eight countries will compete for Olympic Games slot.

The Black Meteors will play in Group A alongside Morocco, Congo, and Guinea.

On Thursday, Ghana U23 held Egypt U23 team to a 1-1 draw at the Alexandria Stadium in a pre-AFCON friendly.

After the game, Tanko expressed satisfied with the performance of the players whiles he count on the Black Stars trio for successful tournament in the North African country.

Ibrahim Tanko has full house with the exception of the trio who are with the Black Stars team.

They are expected to join the Black Meteors after the AFCON 2023 qualifier against Madagascar on Sunday.

“I think those who played did very well, we are still waiting for those who are with the Black Stars, that will make us strong again but I am very impressed with this performance today”

“We trained just ones and played 1-1 so I think when we have more time to prepare we are going to build a strong team and go to Morocco and have a very successful tournament”

In the 9th minute, Issahaku displayed recovery skills at the edge of the box, weaving his way past three Egyptian defenders, only to be brought down inside the penalty area.

Afriyie Barnieh stepped up confidently and expertly converted the penalty, giving Ghana a well-deserved lead.

In the 34th minute, Danlad committed another lapse as his pass went straight to an opponent, who swiftly initiated a counterattack with a series of precise passes. The Ghanaian defense struggled to recover, and Egypt's well-executed team play resulted in the equalizing goal.

Ghana's last participation in the Olympic Games was in 2004, and they will be eager to make their mark on the global stage once again.
