President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his belief that the Black Stars will reclaim its glory days.

The senior national team has been poor in their recent games.

In the last two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaigns in Cameroon and Ivory Coast, the team exited at the group phase without winning a game.

The Black Stars in 2021 finished at the bottom of their group and in 2023, the West African country again, finished at the bottom of their group.

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Black Stars also exited at the group phase having finished at the bottom of their group after three games.

In his State of the Nation address today, the President insisted that he has no doubt the senior national team will rise up again when the right things are done.

"I have no doubt that the Black Stars will rise up and make us proud again," he said.

The Black Stars will return to action in June when they resume their 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a doubleheader against Mali.
