Blame GFA For Black Stars World Cup Collapse - Randy Abbey

Former Public Relation Officer of the Ghana Football Association, Randy Abbey says the GFA must be blamed for the country's inability to qualify for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The four-time African champions failed to qualify for a fourth consecutive time after playing in Germany, South Africa and Brazil.

Ghana lost the only ticket available in Group E to Egypt placing third in Group E with 7 points.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM, Mr Abbey expressed his belief that the Ghana Football Association did not put out the right measures to ensure the country qualify for the quadrennial football showpiece in Russia.

"I heard Osei Parma on radio that we failed to qualify because we didn't pay indemnity for 2 matches, granted that's the case then we have a big problem because this is an association that can borrow to pre-finance a friendly worth $200,000 because the agent's money is not ready," Abbey declared on Oyerepa FM.

"So my question is that, how can we have an FA that can find money to pre-finance a friendly and same FA turns around to tell us that we couldn't qualify because we failed to pay indemnity for 2 matches which could cost us around the same $200,000."

"You will look for money to pre-finance a friendly match that will not take us to the World Cup and will not even get paid but can't find money to pay for that which will qualify us for the World Cup. Such is the pity" he concluded.
