The board of Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko has been dissolved with immediate effect by Manhyia.
This is according to information gathered from sources close to the Kumasi-based club.
It is understood that the decision has been taken because of the team’s failure to win a trophy at the end of the 2022/23 football season.
The board of Asante Kotoko was set up in 2020 with Dr. Kwame Kyei as its chairman to oversee the affairs of the club.
Although the board would have a good working relationship with Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah, the relationship has not been great in recent times.
While it is not clear that is a factor that has led to the dissolution of the board, it is the thinking of many.
In truth, the board of the Porcupine Warriors has been dissolved following the expiration of their term of office.
Meanwhile, the management of Asante Kotoko led by CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has also been reportedly dissolved.
The club will make assessments and put together a new structure before the start of the 2023/24 season.
