Swansea manager Bob Bradley has spoken of his 'consistent' talks with the club's owners about potential additions to his side in January.

"We still feel we can use it [January] to improve our squad and discussions need to continue," Bradleytold theBBCearlier this week.

"As a manager in a period where the team is really trying to fight back from a difficult start, the best thing that can happen is to see important players step onto the field and play well and that sets the one for everyone else."

Bradley's side have struggled this season but a 3-0 win over Sunderland last weekend saw the Swans move off of the bottom of the Premier League.

Since his arrival in October Bradley is yet use the same 11 in any of his eight games in charge. The American's lack of consistency when it comes to picking his team has seen him often used as a scapegoat for his side's below-par performances.

"I think we've made good progress. Good performances from good players is what allows you to start to settle into your best team, assuming you can avoid injuries and suspensions," he added.

"Certainly we feel strongly that we want to try and build on the work from Saturday and will it be the exact same team? I'm not sure but I think you'll still see a pretty good carryover from the game against Sunderland."

Having only taken eight points from a possible 24, many will be surprised by Bradley's optimism. The former USA manager believes his side are improving:

"We showed signs of good football in the previous seven games [before the win against Sunderland] but not always in a consistent enough manner."

"Confidence is still important and with results, we're trying to see if we can build up that confidence."

Bradley's confirmation of talks with owners will only excite Swansea fans. A void left by the sale ofAshley Williams in the summer was not filled in the summer andcentre-back could be where the manager adds tofirst.
