Tensions are high at Bologna after three directors were threatened with crosses bearing their names outside the gates of the training ground.

The Rossoblu have struggled so far this season under Filippo Inzaghi, winning just two of their 15 matches to date to sit in the final relegation spot.

Their latest defeat to Empoli was met with protests from disgruntled fans, but that displeasure was kicked up a notch on Friday.

Three crosses with the name of directors were left outside of the club’s training ground and discovered at 14:30 local time.

The names on the crosses were CEO Claudio Fenucci, sporting director Riccardo Bigon and scout Marco Di Vaio – who starred for the club from 2008 to 2012.

Local police were brought in to deal with the threat and assess the situation.

On the field, Bologna will look to get their campaign back on track on Tuesday, when they welcome AC Milan – who have problems of their own to deal with – to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
