Borussia Dortmund Could Add Young PSG Striker to Team of Wonderkids After Making £6.7m Bid

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly snapped up another European wonderkid after raiding Paris Saint-Germain for striking sensation Jean-Kevin Augustin.

L'Equipe has claimed that the striker will swap Ligue 1 football for the Bundesliga next season, with terms already believed to be agreed between Augustin's representatives and the Westfalonstadion-based side.

A fee worth around 8m euros (£6.7m) is said to be the bid that Dortmund hope will entice PSG into selling their prized asset and, if the deal is ratified, Augustin would join up with another star-in-the-making in Swedish frontman Aleksandar Isak at the German club.

Augustin is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Europe after he emerged from PSG's youth academy for his senior debut back in April 2015. The forward had plundered 12 goals in just 20 games for the French side's B team, and was rewarded for his outstanding form in the second string with a two-minute cameo from the first-team bench in a Coupe de France semi-final showdown with Saint-Etienne.

The France Under-21 international has gone to feature a further 29 times for the club, and has registered two senior strikes and four assists under current PSG boss Unai Emery and predecessor Laurent Blanc.

It was only last month that Emery admitted that Augustin would benefit from a loan move away from the Parc de Princes in a bid to further his footballing education, particularly in the wake of the youngster taking to Instagram to express his frustration at not playing on a more regular basis for his current employers.

Jean-Kevin Augustin for €8m. Is that a cheap Mbappé?

Emery had said: "I have spoken with all the players regarding the present and the future. On Sunday, I met with Patrick [Kluivert, PSG's director of football] and some players, including Jean-Kevin. We talked about each of their futures.

"The best thing for him [Augustin] is that he plays. He needs it in order to appreciate how difficult it can be and to build up experience. In Paris, he is playing with us and the CFA side [reserve team in France's fourth tier]."

Despite making 12 appearances this term, Augustin has started just twice and has not been present in any of PSG's last seven 18-man matchday squads in France's top flight. PSG, though, now appear to be losing their greatest current talent once the 2016/17 season draws to a close, with Dortmund set to be the beneficiaries of poaching another young star before he realises his full potential.
