Bournemouth Boss Eddie Howe Aggrieved With Red Card After 3-3 Arsenal Draw

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said he was disappointed with the sending off of Simon Francis after his side's 3-3 draw draw with Arsenal on Tuesday.

Goals from Charlie Daniels, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser had given the Cherries a 3-0 lead, but they were pegged back by Alexis Sanchez and Lucas Perez before Francis was sent off for a rash challenge on Aaron Ramsey. Olivier Giroud grabbed the final goal as Arsenal completed a remarkable comeback by grabbing a point in stoppage time.

"Fate conspired against us in several ways. I didn't think it was a sending off. I thought that was harsh but in the end the quality of their players showed," Howe toldBBC Sport.

"The emotion is one of disappointment but we can't forget what the players did in the first half of that game.

"Sometimes you get lost because you're working every day but we have to remember how far we've come and what we're doing and at what level. But we're here to win which is why this hurts so much."

The result sees Bournemouth move a point ahead of 10th placed Southampton, but the south coast side will undoubtedly be disappointed at failing to recordanother historic result against a Premier League title challenging opponent. The Cherries recorded a great result earlier in the season when they triumphed over Liverpool, running out 4-3 winners.

Bournemouth have a brief period of respite before they travel to Millwall for an FA Cup on Saturday, with their next Premier League game coming in a trip to Hull on the 14th.
