Bournemouth manager Gary O'neil is impressed with the performance of Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo on his debut.

Semenyo, who joined the Premier League club last month played his first match for the club when they faced Brighton last Saturday.

He lasted the entire duration as his outfit suffered a 1-0 defeat to Brighton at away.

Despite failing the find the back of the net, O’neil has expressed delight about the performance of the Ghana international.

"They (Semenyo and Traore) did well. Like I said they were part of the reason why we were a threat today. The new boys settled well and Traore was a little tired so I had to change him. I am pleased for those and they deserve some points," he said after the defeat to Brighton.

Semenyo is expected to start when Bournemouth host Newcastle United at the Vitality stadium on Saturday.
