Bournemouth Chief Executive reveals reason for signing Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo

The Chief Executive of AFC Bournemouth, Neill Blake has opened up on why the club has splashed the cash to sign Ghana striker Antoine Semenyo.

According to him, the club has been monitoring the forward for a while and sees him as an exciting attacker who can help the club in many ways.

"Antoine is an exciting player and one we have monitored for a while,” AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said on Friday after the club announced the signing of the Black Stars striker.

Antoine Semenyo has joined the English Premier League club today from Championship outfit Bristol City.

Before joining AFC Bournemouth, there was interest from clubs including Burnley and Crystal Palace.

“AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo from Bristol City.

“The forward joins on a four-and-a-half-year deal, with the club retaining an option of a further year,” an official club statement from AFC Bournemouth said on Friday.

The club also said, “He becomes the third signing of the January transfer window for the Cherries, following the arrivals of Dango Ouattara and Darren Randolph.”
