Bournemouth Manager Eddie Howe Delighted With Striker Callum Wilson for Display Against West Brom

Bournemouth managerEddieHowe has announced that he ispleased for Callum Wilson after scoring saturday'smatch winner following a long spell out with injury.


Speaking toSky Sports News, Howe said:"We had some really good moments within the half, probably our best scoringmoments camein the second half. It wasquite a bizarre goal but a great finish from Callum, great to see him back on the scoresheet."

"He's had to watch the team doing well in the Premier League without him, but delighted to see him and delighted to see him score today, he really did need that."

Howe praised the rest of the squad for standing up to West Bromwich Albion:"I think the belief we have in the team, I believe in the squad we've got, but ultimately that belief needs to be manifested in terms of results, and today we got our reward for really a lot of hard work, a lot of hard work during pre-season, I'm really delighted for the players.


"Anytime you play West Brom, we played them last year, they're incredibly tight, they're a really tough side to break down, they're a tough side to score against, a tough side to create chances against, and we saw that in the game today, they're very well drilled, organised, they're physical.


"Overall we've come out on top in areally tight game with a clean sheet, so it's been a really good afternoon."

The manager brought onJack Wilshere after 61 minutes, which is due to alack of match fitnessNBC reports. Howe said:I've got to make sure I do ride by Jack and the team and I just felt half an hour was his limit today.


"We're building him up in terms of fitness and everything else behind the scenes but we've got to do it in a careful way. We want to protect him and make sure that when he plays he's able to produce his very best."
