BREAKING: Kwesi Appiah names strong first XI for USA game

Coach Kwesi Appiah has named a strong team to start against the Yankees of the United States in the International friendly at the Whitney and Pratt stadium in East Harford.

 

Wa All Stars goalkeepers and the current number one maintains his position in the post with a backline made up of Rashid Sumaila, Lumor Agbenyenu, Jerry Akaminko and John Boye.

 

Rashid Sumaila and John Boye come in for the Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah who were recalled by their club. This means Sumaila will play on an unusual right position in defence.

 

Mohammed Abu and Ebenezer Ofor will be in the middle with inform David Accam and Frank Acheamong playing on the right and left flanks respectively. David Accam makes the team after a remarkable season in the MLS.

 

Captain Asamoah Gyan will lead the attack and will be partnered by FC Zurich attacker Rapaheal Dwamena.
