BREAKING NEWS: Appeals Committee demotes Dreams FC and promotes Tema Youth to topflight

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has demoted Dreams FC to the Division One League and stunningly promoted Tema Youth to the top-flight Ghana Premier League.

A statement issued by the Committee on Wednesday night said the outcome was reached after it was forced by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to hear the case after a petition by Tema Youth against the verdict of the two previous hearings by the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA.

Tema Youth were declared victorious in the case regarding the eligibilty of Dreams FC's Cudjoe Mensah who featured in the clash between them during their quest to gain promotion to the topflight.

The Commitee ruled that CUDJOE MENSAH was unqualified to play in the match between TEMA YOUTH and DREAMS and the latter is liable for the irregular registration of the player.

They also slapped a five-year ban from all football activities on Dreams FC official Ibrahim Dossey Adam for signing the release letter of the player on behalf of the club.

Dreams were also slapped with a GHC 2,500 fine over the case which has persisted for one year.

The ruling directed that Tema Youth will play in the Ghana Premier League next season while Dreams FC will languish in the "wilderness of Ghana football".
