Breaking News: Cameroon stripped of 2019 African Cup of Nations

Published on: 30 November 2018

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stripped Cameroon of the right to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The decision was made after mass violence and delays to preparations put the competition into chaos.

CAF announced in September that there was a "significant delay" to the building of the stadiums and other infrastructure.

Cameroon were given a final chance and two more inspections were scheduled for October.

But the tournament is set to start on June 15 and significant progress has not been made.

It has now been revealed that a new bidding process will be opened and countries will have until the end of December to file their offer.
