Former Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh's appointment as head coach of the Sierra Leone national team has been rejected by the government of Sierra Leone on the bases that, after a panel meeting the ministry's representatives observed that reps from the Sierra Leone FA came with a premeditated mind of appointing the said coach.

Tetteh won the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup with Ghana, was returning to the West African country after serving as caretaker coach between 2015 and 2017.
