British High Commissioner to Ghana calls for support for Sulley Muntari

British High Commissioner to Ghana Jon Benjamin has hailed Sulley Muntari for leaving the pitch in protest of being racially abused.

Muntari was a subject of the despicable act during his club side Pescara's game with Cagliari in Serie A on Sunday.

The player said the referee then told him to stop talking to the crowd and ended up showing him the yellow card for dissent in the 90th minute.

Many have lauded the Ghanaian international for taking that bold step.

Jon Benjamin posted on his twitter page " More support for Sulley Muntari and quite right too. Maybe Sulley's protest can be a watershed moment in tackling racism in football?"
