Ajax teenager of Ghanaian descent, Brian Brobbey has been dropped from the Netherlands Under 17 squad for this month’s world cup in Brazil.
Van der Veen in a meeting on Wednesday with the Ajax coaches and doctors on Brobbey was informed that he is yet to make a recovery from his injury and cannot feature in the tournament.
The Dutch will take on Japan in their first game on October 27, before playing Senegal and the United States.
17-year-old Brain Ebenezer Adjei Brobbey's absence is a big blow for the team as the striker played a major role when they won the European Under 17 tournament in Italy earlier this year.
The forward has made 24 appearances with 16 goals for Netherlands.
