Building a new team takes time; we need to be patient – Ghana striker Jordan Ayew

Striker Jordan Ayew has called for patience as new head coach CK Akonnor builds a new Black Stars team.

The experienced forward has been part of the Ghana male senior national team for the most parts of the last decade.

While it looks like Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor is trying to build a new team, Jordan is one of the players from the regular guys that have been maintained.

Following a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Mali in the gaffer’s first match in charge of the team, the Crystal Palace attacker has called for patience.

According to him, building a new team will take a time to yield the desired results.

“But the most important thing is to have a very good performance as a team and obviously the result will follow. But also, let’s have in mind that we are building a new team and it’s going to take a bit of time so we need to be a bit patient”, Jordan told the GFA communications team after the Mali defeat.

He continued, “We need to make sure that we don’t repeat the mistakes that we did a couple of days ago we make sure we don’t repeat them [today] and make sure that we put in a solid performance to redeem ourselves.”

Yesterday, Jordan Ayew had an outstanding game when Ghana defeated Qatar 5-1 in another friendly match. He provided 2 assists to help coach CK Akonnor record his first win with the Black Stars.
