After coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich was placed in home quarantine on Friday, putting him out of at least the next two games.

Bayern Munich confirmed the news on Friday, a day after Kimmich skipped a training session on the eve of their league game against Augsburg, which head coach Julian Nagelsmann termed as a "precautionary measure."

Kimmich, 26, recently got out of home quarantine on Tuesday after having contact with Bayern Munich teammate Niklas Sule, who tested positive while on international duty with Germany last week.

In addition to the match against Augsburg on Friday, Kimmich will also miss Bayern's Champions League meeting against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday, despite the fact that Bayern has already qualified for the last 16.
