Coach Charles Kwablah Akunnor has set sights on picking up points away from home in the Caf Confederation Cup ahead of their clash against Nkana FC on Sunday in Zambia.

The 44-year-old gaffer believes picking up away points will enhance the team's chances of making it to the next stage of the competition.

The Reds have recorded just a win at home in two matches played in the group stage and are set to face Nkana FC of Zambia on 24 February at the Nkana stadium in their second away game in the group having lost to Al Hilal 1-0 in Sudan.

The former Dreams FC trainer says, the strength of his opponent in the group is high and trying to avoid defeat at home and not win an away game cannot help the team qualify from the group stage, hence a plan to secure a point away will be the team's priority.

"Looking at the strength of the four teams in the group, winning only your home matches wouldn't be enough to secure qualification, so you need to at least pick a point away from home, so let's see what happens".

"It's a fact that if we want to get to the next stage of the competition, then we need to pick a point at Nkana", he told Fox FM in an interview.

The Porcupine Warriors will depart the shores of Ghana on Wednesday to honour the game which will kick-off at exactly 3:00pm local time.
