Egypt legend Wael Gomaa has taken a swipe at Al Ahly forward Salah Mohsen following his goal celebration against Ghana's Medeama in the CAF Champions League group stage opener on Saturday.
The Egyptian giants defeated Ghana champions 3-0 at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo to begin the group stage in style.
The 25-year-old Egyptian striker scored his side third goal to seal win for Al Ahly the highly competitive clash.
After the game, Gomaa, a former director of football at Al-Ahly attacked Salah Mohsen, after he celebrated his goal against Medeama with a signal of silence.
“Salah Mohsen participates and wastes opportunities, and everyone criticizes him for that, and after the player scores a goal, he signals silence to the fans! Frankly, this celebration is very provocative, and I do not understand any justification for this celebration.” He told BeiN Sports channel.
Al Ahly will face Young Africans in their second group game of the CAF elite competition this weekend.
