Experienced tactician JE Sarpong has advised Medeama SC not to be defensive when they take on Horoya AC in the CAF Champions League decider.

The Ghanaian champions has already arrived in Guinea ahead of the crucial game against Horoya AC on Saturday.

Medeama go into the return leg with the advantage having recorded a 3-1 home win over the Guinean giant. The Ghanaian outfit will be hoping to hold onto the advantage as they eye progress in the competition.

“In Africa we don’t have advantage at home or away, the way you approach the game tactically and the approach you adopt when you are going away to play" he said.

“If you go there and you try to sit back, you are in trouble. So I expect Medeama SC to open up and play and face them one on one" he said continued.

The veteran coach advised the team to play a more open game rather than to sit back and defend and absorb the pressure.

“They will be able to qualify and come back but when they sit back and try to absorb pressure with the view that they will go on counter, you don’t know the Arsenal of those people you are going to play".

The Ghanaian giants travelled to Conakry with a 19-man squad for the match scheduled to take place at the GLC Nongo Stadium.

Coach Evans Augustine Adotey will supervise the mandatory training session at 16:00 GMT (4pm) today before the epic clash on Saturday.

The Mauve and Yellow has been boosted by the return of striker Jonathan Sowah, defender Fatawu Hamidu and winger Derrick Fordjour.

Meanwhile, the Yellow and Mauves will have to battle for qualification without influential duo of Manuel Mantey and Theophilus Anobah, who failed to recover on time for the return leg.

The Ghana Premier League champions are aiming to emulate the feat chalked by Berekum Chelsea in 2012 when the former Premier League champions qualified to the group stage of Africa’s elite inter-club competition.
