Caf Champions League: Kotoko are in a difficult situation to win against Al Hilal - Frimpong Manso

Former Asante Kotoko coach, Frimpong Manso believes his former side are in a tight condition ahead of their second leg game against Al Hilal in Sudan.

The Ghana Premier League side must fight to overturn their 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League.

However, Manso beleives Kotoko can frustrate the Sudanese side to progress to the group phase of the competition but insisted the Porcupine Warriors are in a difficult position to win on Wednesday.

"Kotoko can also win in Sudan, but it will not come easy," he told Kumasi based Wontumi Radio.

"Kotoko will open up to be able to score but Hilal will also come with all guns blazing because they are playing at home but this is football, and I believe everything can happen.

"All is not lost, but from where I stand, it looks very difficult for Kotoko to win in Sudan looking at what has happened," he added.

Kotoko players on Tuesday morning boycotted training due to unpaid per diems ahead of the game at the Blue Jewel Stadium in Sudan.

However, calm was restored at the camp of the team by the leader of the delegation, Nana Oduro Sarfo, who is an Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association [GFA].

Kotoko have not played in the group phase of the Caf Champions League for the past 14 years.
