Medeama SC will have to negotiate for CAF Champions League qualification against Horoya AC without influential duo of Manuel Mantey and Theophilus Anobah due to injury setbacks.

The pair did not travel with the team after failing to recover from injuries on time.

Mantey picked up an injury during his side opening Ghana Premier League game against Accra Lions and has since not recovered.  The midfielder has established himself as key member of the squad since his arrival.

On the other side, Theophilus Anobah is also yet to fully recover from the injury he picked up  in the first tie against Horoya AC, where the Yellow and Mauves cruised to a 3-1 win.

He has missed our first two Ghana Premier League matches against Accra Lions and Aduana Stars as well.

The two players will be absent as the Mauve and Yellow attempt to protect a two-goal advantage ahead of the CAF Champions League decider against the Guinea side.

The Ghanaian champions arrived at the Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport at 17:55GMT.

The team underwent formalities at the airport before reaching the 4-star Atlantic View Hotel where the team is lodging.

Medeama go into the return leg with the advantage having recorded a 3-1 home win over the Guinean giant. The Ghanaian outfit will be hoping to hold onto the advantage as they eye progress in the competition.

The team has arrived in Conakry and will hold the mandatory training session at the GLC Nongo Stadium today (Friday) September 29, 2023 at 16:00GMT.
