CAF Champions league semis, finals to be staged in Cameroon

Published on: 30 June 2020

The semi-finals and finals of the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League games will be staged in Cameroon, CAF has decided today.

The yearly inter-club competition reached the last 4 stage before the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis forced the continent football governing body to put the campaign on suspension.

After being on hold for months, CAF is preparing for a return to ensure the games can be cleared in order to end the championship.

At an Executive Committee Meeting via video conferencing today, CAF President Ahmad Ahmad has confirmed that the remainder of the Champions League games will be staged in Cameroon.

Initially, the country had been scheduled to host the historic one-legged final of this season's competition. They will now make arrangements to host the semi-final stage.

The last four stage instead of the home and away format will be played in a one-off game with the winner advancing straight to the grand finale.

CAF will soon come out with the dates for the remaining games soon.
