CAF Champions League: We won’t underestimate ourselves against Raja Casablanca – Samartex GM Edmund Ackah

General Manager of Samartex Edmund Ackah says his outfit will not underestimate themselves against Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League clash.

The Ghana Premier League champions edged out Cameroonian outfit Victoria United in the first preliminary round to set up a tie with the Moroccan giants in the second round.

Samartex will play host to Raja Casablanca this weekend before traveling to Morocco for the return fixture.

The much-anticipated clash between Samartex and Raja Casablanca will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to the media, the experienced football administrator affirmed his side will not undermine themselves when they take on the Moroccan giants.

“Preparation for Raja started right after our game against Victoria United in Accra. We’ve been in camp preparing well for them” he told Kessben FM, as followed by Footballghana.com.

“Raja is a big team. It is just like Kotoko and Hearts of Oak. Samartex playing Kotoko or Hearts on anyday is a David and Goliath affair and that is how we see the Raja game”

“We are the underdogs because we are just three years in the Premier League We will make names for ourselves if we beat them but if they beat us is no news. Notwithstanding, we will not underestimate ourselves against Raja. We are going all out” he concluded.

Samartex will be aiming for a positive results in the first leg to make the return leg a mere formality.

Meanwhile, Raja Casablanca are expected to arrive in Ghana on Friday, September 13, 2024 for the crucial clash on Sunday.
