CAF CL: Wydad coach Walid Rekraki undergoes Covid-19 test in bid to be available for Hearts return leg

The head coach for Wydad AC, Walid Rekraki underwent a Covid-19 test on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, as he hopes to be available for the second leg of the encounter against Hearts of Oak.

The gaffer tested positive for the Covid-19 prior to his team’s travel to Ghana to face the Phobians in the first leg of their scheduled two-legged tie in the CAF Champions League playoff.

In his absence, Hearts of Oak dominated Wydad AC last Sunday and managed to secure an important 1-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium at the end of what was a fierce contest.

Now pushing to be back in the dugout for his team when the reverse fixture is played, Wydad AC head coach Walid Rekraki has taken another Covid-19 test.

According to sources, he had no symptoms of the deadly virus and looks set to be cleared for duty when the results are out.

When available, he will boost the technical bench of Wydad AC when they host Hearts of Oak.

Already, the Ghana Premier League Champions have arrived in Casablanca for the encounter which will be played on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
