CAF confederations cup: Ashanti Gold leaves for Morocco today ahead of RS Bekane return leg

Ghana Premier League side, Obuasi Ashanti Gold will be leaving Ghana for Morocco later today ahead of their return leg fixture with RS Bekane in the second round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Miners hosted their opponent a couple of weeks ago at the Len Clay Sports Stadium and managed to emerge as 3-2 winners in a fiercely contested affair.

Though that was a good result, the use of the away goal rule in the continental inter-club competition means that they still have a lot of work to do if they are to sail through to the group phase.

After intensifying preparations in the West African country for the past week, Ashgold is now set to depart for Morocco to ensure they get enough time to acclimatize with their weather before the matchday.

The crucial match will be played on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.

A win ideally will see the Miners eliminating RS Bekane but a draw will also do the trick.
