Nigerians outfit Rivers United are expected to arrive in Ghana on Thursday, November 30, 2023 ahead their CAF Champions League second group game.

The Still Believe lads will play host to Rivers United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

Upon arrival on Thursday, the team will head to Kumasi where the game will be played to continue preparation for the crucial encounter.

The reigning Ghana FA Cup holders succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Club Africain at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Radès in their opening group game last Sunday and are eyeing a swift return to victory.

Club Africain seized control early, with an impressive team effort leading to a 5th-minute goal by Algerian forward Tayeb Meziani. Meziani before they extended their lead in the 19th minute when Dreams' goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi faltered in saving a long-distance effort from Srarfi.

Rivers United on the other hand made a strong start to competition after beating Academica do Lobito 3-0 in their opening game.

The Nigerian outfit will count on the Ghanaian attacker Samuel Adom Antwi when they face the Still Believe lads. He was on target when Rivers United demolished their opponent.

Samuel Antwi joined Rivers United at the end of the 2022/23 season following an explosive display for King Faisal despite suffering demotion to the Division One League.

Meanwhile, the Still Believe lads will be without their captain, Abdul Jalilu who was red carded in their game against Club Africain.
