CAF U-23 AFCON: Coach Michael Osei concedes Ghana has been pitted in difficult group

Assistant head coach for the Ghana U-23 team, Michael Osei has conceded that his side has been drawn into a difficult group ahead of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations tournament next month.

The official draw for the upcoming continental showdown was held at the Haramlek Palace of Montaza Complex in Alexandria on Wednesday.

Ghana who will be featuring at that stage for the first time is expected to lock horns with host nation Egypt, as well as Cameroon, and Mali.

Sharing his thoughts on the team’s group opponent, Michael Osei has admitted the team is in a tough group.

“It is a very tough group. We have respect for any country that we are going to face in the competition but we have no fears”, the Black Meteors assistant coach said in an interview with Happy FM.

Ghana will play her first match of the tournament against their counterpart from Cameroon on November 8, 2019.

They will be looking to enjoy success to ensure they end up among the top 3 teams at the end of the tournament to have the chance of qualifying to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
