From all indications, it appears Medeama can only travel to Algeria in batches as they struggle to catch a flight for their decisive CAF Confederation Cup clash with Olympique Mouloudia (MO) Bejaia in Algeria next Tuesday.

As of press time yesterday, there was still a cloud of uncertainty hanging over Medeama’s flight schedule as management sought for a convenient flight for the trip.

As if to suggest that their turbulent continental campaign was far from abating, a frustrated president of the club, Moses Armah (Mospacka), told the Graphic Sports that management had been struggling in vain in the past days to book a flight for the last Group A encounter in Bejaia.

“We’ve been trying hard to get a flight for Algeria in the past days but they were all fully booked,” a dejected Mospacka disclosed.

He said following the turn of events, the club was considering traveling in batches with either Air Maroc or Turkish Airlines tomorrow to ensure an early arrival in Algeria.

“For now we have no choice but to go in batches but we will return to Ghana together after the match,” he added. Aside the flight problems, Medeama are still grappling with their usual financial constraints following the government’s failure to deliver on its earlier promise to support the campaign.

The situation again leaves Mospacka alone to carry the over $70,000 burden on its tiny shoulders as in previous matches.

Medeama’s fate in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup depends on the outcome of Tuesday’s match as they need at least a draw against MO Bejaia, who also need a win, to secure a semi-final berth.

Medeama are currently second on the table with eight points, two adrift of TP Mazembe, while MO Bejaia are third with five points and Young Africans are bottom with four points.
